![]() I also understand that Evening Star is trying to move forward in a way that doesn’t chain their identity to the Sonic franchise. It’s hard to keep those creative juices flowing if they simply did the same thing over and over again. I can certainly understand Evening Star being ready to try something new. Had Evening Star been working on another 2D Sonic game, I wouldn’t be pining quite as hard for a sense of security in Sonic’s future. Many fans are afraid of Sonic’s next title (under project name Sonic Rangers) due to Sonic Team failing to deliver again and again. We could argue forever who is to blame for the state of Sonic the Hedgehog, but fans can agree Sonic Mania was a saving grace for the series. Thanks to their quality of work, Sonic Mania was a sturdy rock in the turbulent sea that is the Sonic franchise. I am a little disappointed Evening Star’s next project isn’t a Sonic Mania sequel for SEGA. ![]() Why Evening Star Can’t Make a Sonic Mania Sequel (At Least Not Yet)
